Community Guidelines

Talk basketball, share picks, respect people.

Basketball AI: Odds & Analysis is a place to follow NBA analysis, share your own takes and picks, and talk with other fans. These Community Guidelines explain what is welcome, what is not, and what happens when someone crosses the line. They are part of our Terms of Use, and you agree to them when you create an account. We have zero tolerance for abusive users and objectionable content.

Basketball AI: Odds & Analysis is an informational app. It does not accept wagers, it is not a sportsbook, and you must be 21 or older to use it.

1. What is welcome

  • Basketball analysis, stats, film notes and reasoning behind a take.
  • Honest opinions about teams, games, players and picks, including disagreeing with the AI analysis or with other users.
  • Trash talk in the spirit of sportsmanship: friendly rivalry is part of being a fan.
  • Sharing your own picks and being open about when they win or lose.
  • Asking questions, helping newer fans and giving credit to others.
  • Respectful debate. You can criticize an argument without attacking the person making it.

2. What is not allowed

The list below is the plain-language version of Section 7 of the Terms of Use. Examples are illustrative, not complete.

Scams and selling

  • Selling picks or handicapping, or offering "locks" for money.
  • Promoting paid groups, VIP groups or private channels. Examples: "join my VIP", "paid picks", "selling picks".
  • Moving people into private conversations to sell something. Example: "DM for picks", "DM me for the play".
  • Claims about fixed or rigged games or inside information. Example: "fixed games", "fixed match", "my guy in the league told me".
  • Guaranteed outcomes. Examples: "guaranteed", "100% sure", "can't lose", "risk-free lock".
  • Fake records, doctored screenshots, made-up win streaks, and buying or selling followers or likes.
  • Asking for money, tips, donations, payment or crypto, or posting payment handles or wallet addresses.
  • Sportsbook promotion: affiliate links, promo codes, bonus codes and referral codes.

Harassment and hate

  • Harassing, bullying, stalking, threatening or intimidating anyone, or encouraging others to do it.
  • Threats of violence or encouraging someone to harm themselves.
  • Hate speech and slurs, or attacking people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or another protected characteristic.
  • Posting someone's private information, such as a home address, phone number or financial details (doxxing).

Sexual content and minors

  • Sexual or sexually explicit content, including in usernames, bios and profile pictures.
  • Intimate images of anyone shared without their consent, including digital forgeries. See Intimate Image Takedown Requests.
  • Anything that sexualizes or exploits minors, or any attempt to contact or groom minors. This is reported to the authorities. See our Child Safety Standards.

Misuse of accounts

  • Impersonating another person, an athlete, a team, our staff, or the official Basketball AI: Odds & Analysis account.
  • Operating more than one account, or letting someone else run your account.
  • Evading a suspension or ban, for example by creating a new account.
  • Spam, repetitive posts or off-topic flooding, and manipulating likes or rankings.
  • Scraping or using bots or other automation.

Other

  • Encouraging illegal gambling or betting by people who are not of legal age.
  • Anything unlawful, or content that infringes someone's copyright or other rights. See our Copyright (DMCA) Policy.

3. Why links and contact details are blocked

You cannot post links, web addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, social-media or messaging handles, invitations to other platforms or payment handles. This applies to posts, comments, bios, usernames and messages. These are the main tools scammers and spammers use to pull people away from the app and into paid groups, fake tipster services and phishing. A strict rule protects everyone, including people who would never intend harm. If a message is blocked, the app tells you why. Betting numbers such as "-6.5", "+150", "o220.5" and scores such as "110-102" are fine.

Some words may be masked with asterisks, and some words or patterns may be rejected. Our filters are not perfect and can make mistakes. If something was blocked that should not have been, please contact us.

4. Rules for picks

  • Picks lock at tip-off. Add your selections before the game starts. A pick locks when the first included game begins, and it can no longer be changed.
  • No deleting after the lock. You can delete a pick only before it locks. After that, your record is fixed, so losing picks cannot be erased to make a record look better.
  • No fake records. Your record is calculated by us from verified results. Do not post edited screenshots, invented results or claims about a record that the app does not show.
  • One person, one account. Do not use several accounts to enter picks, to cover both sides of a line, or to build a better record or leaderboard rank.
  • Do not claim certainty. Picks are opinions, and past results do not guarantee future results.
  • Picks are for information and entertainment. No money is wagered through the app.
  • We may void a pick, remove a pick or a user from the leaderboard, or disqualify an entrant from leaderboard rewards for violations of these rules, manipulation, multiple accounts, bad-faith picks or suspected cheating. See the Official Contest Rules.

5. Reporting and blocking

Report. Tap the "⋯" menu on a post, comment, pick, profile or message and choose Report. Pick the reason that fits best, such as spam, abuse, offensive content, misleading content, scam, hate, sexual content, impersonation, a user who looks under 18, or child safety. You can add a note. We do not tell the person you reported who made the report, except where the law requires.

What we do. We aim to review every report within 24 hours. If content receives several reports from established accounts, it may be hidden automatically while we review it. A single report about a profile picture for sexual content or child safety hides the picture immediately while we look at it. Child safety reports get the fastest review.

Block and mute. You can block a user so that you cannot see each other's content and they cannot follow, comment on, or message you. You can mute a user so their content disappears from your feeds and notifications without them knowing. You can manage blocks and mutes in Settings.

Urgent situations. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. Reports in the app are not monitored as an emergency service.

If you want to ask us to remove an intimate image that was shared without consent, use /takedown, which does not require an account.

6. What happens if you break the rules

We use a ladder of enforcement. We usually start at the lowest step that fits, but we can skip steps.

  1. Content removal. We remove or hide the content.
  2. Warning. You receive a notification that you have broken the rules.
  3. 24-hour suspension. You can read but cannot post, comment, vote, follow, create picks or send messages.
  4. 7-day suspension. The same restrictions for seven days.
  5. Permanent ban. Your account is closed and your content is hidden. We may take steps to prevent you from signing up again.

Immediate ban. We will ban an account immediately, without earlier steps, for:

  • child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexual exploitation of minors;
  • serious threats of violence;
  • ban evasion, such as creating a new account after being banned;
  • fraud and scams.

We report CSAM and child exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and cooperate with law enforcement. We may also contact the authorities about credible threats of violence.

Our enforcement decisions are made at our discretion in good faith. We do not promise to remove any specific content, and we do not monitor everything that is posted.

7. Appeals

If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal within 14 days of the action. Email dumanmuraat@gmail.com from the email address on your account with your username, a description of what happened and why you think it was a mistake. We will review your appeal and reply.

8. Responsible gaming

Even though Basketball AI: Odds & Analysis does not take wagers, many people use basketball analysis to inform decisions about betting with licensed sportsbooks. Please bet responsibly, only if you are of legal age where you live, and never with money you cannot afford to lose.
